Wonda Barone

Wonda Lee Barone, 63, of Atoka, OK, passed away April 16, 2018 in Dallas, Texas.The daughter of Herrel and Viedas (Hardaway) Whisenhunt, Wonda was born December 7, 1954 in Antlers, OK. She was a member of Atoka Assembly of God Church. She was raised in Redding, CA and attended Pacheco Elementary School and a graduate of Enterprise High School. She received her RN degree from Shasta College. She worked as a Nurse at Mercy Hospital. After moving to Atoka, OK in 1992 she worked as a Nurse at Antlers Hospital, Durant Hospital and McAlester. She was a traveling Nurse nationwide. She loved to travel for work and sightseeing after work, loved raising dogs, horses, chickens and geese.Wonda leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Nanny of Atoka, OK; grandson, Catfish Barone of Atoka, OK; brothers, Ronald Whisenhunt and Harold Whisenhunt both of Atoka, OK; sister, Mary Lennert of Atoka, OK; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends; special aunt, Dixie Holmes.She was preceded in death by her father; her son, Joseph Barone; grand-parents, Joe and Vicie Hardaway and numerous other family members.Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 21, 2018 at County Line Cemetery, Pickens, OK with Bro.
