William "Bill" Clemons

–

Mena, Arkansas

William "Bill" Everett Clemons, age 85, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at The Green House Cottages of Homewood in Mena, Arkansas. He was born on Saturday, August 24, 1940 to James Clemons and Margaret Wilson Clemons in Tazewell, Virginia.

Bill was a member at the Calvary Baptist Church, and served as a Deacon and Elder in the past at other churches and took it very seriously. He will be remembered as a fun loving man whose laughter and quick wit filled every room he entered. He delighted in cracking jokes and being silly, famously squirting Emma with the water hose through the house window, moments that perfectly captured his playful spirit. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army and Air Force for 24 years, retiring after a distinguished career that allowed him to see much of the world alongside his beloved wife, Emma. A man of many interests, he enjoyed collecting coins and stamps, was a true chess whiz who competed proudly, and loved bowling, cards, and dominos, with his competitive nature earning him bowling trophies and lasting friendships through his involvement with the VFW. He enjoyed fishing and going out on the boat. Above all else, Bill loved his family deeply, always putting them first, and will be remembered as a devoted husband, responsible father, and an excellent role model to all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James Clemons; one sister, Judy Clemons; and two grandchildren, Paul Clemons and Michael Daniel.

William is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Emma Jean Clemons of Mena; one son and daughter in law, Michael T. and Cathy Clemons of Melbourne, Arkansas; three daughters, Miriam Daniel of Anchorage, Alaska, Mary Rhoads of Mena, Katherine Doggett of Stuttgart, Germany; one brother, Joe Clemons of Las Vegas, Nevada; two sisters, Theresa Clemons, Rosemary Clemons; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
