Walter J. "Chuck" Peters, formerly of North Pole Community passed away February 14, 2015 in Albuquerque, N.M. He was born September 25, 1924 in Chicago, IL the son of Anton and Agnes (Onak) Peters. Chuck served his country in the US Navy for four years including time on the U.S.S. Vincennes in the South Pacific during World War ll. He met the love of his life Pat Green in Chicago in 1950. They were reunited and married at a later date. Chuck started working full time for R. R. Donnelly Printing during high school and worked for twenty five years. After retirement he and Pat made their home east of Wright City, OK on their cattle ranch. Chuck was a member of the McCurtain County Cattleman?s Association and the Wright City American Legion Post #74. Chuck enjoyed politics, traveling, watching sports, and spending time with his family. Chuck leaves to cherish his memory; nephews, Matt of Albuquerque, NM, Jim of Chicago, IL, and their wives; four great nieces; two great-great nieces; two great-great nephews; sisters-in-law, Betty Jennings, Jane McElrath and husband, George, Catherine Green all of Wright City, OK; a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Oma Lee "Pat" (Green) Peters; two brothers, Matt and Joe; sister, Mae; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Green; sisters-in-law, Alma Mitchell, Ila White and Ella Knox; brother-in-law, R.C.
