Virgil Samuel Hayes Sr. was born January 3, 1951 in Sawyer, Oklahoma. He was the son of Samuel Madison and Lonie Luneal (Houser) Hayes. As a child Virgil attended Lukfata Baptist Church. He loved his grandchildren and had always looked forward to Christmas and spending time with his family. The family recalls times he would take them to the lake and go boating with his grandchildren. Virgil enjoyed keeping up with things happening in McCurtain County and around the world. Virgil and Claudia Fusco were married on January 18, 1986 in Broken Bow, at the First Presbyterian Church. Virgil was preceded in death by: his parents and one sister, Edna Campbell. Virgil leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Claudia Hayes; seven children and their families, John and Karen Hayes and their children, Blaine, Kimberly and Samantha Hayes, Laura Catherwood Hayes and her children, Bridgette Cagle and Dalton Hayes, Jason Hayes and Maegan Nobles and their children, Heather Hayes, Gunter and Remington Minchew, Jason Fusco and Amber Taylor and their children, Bryce and Kambree Fusco, Osanna Hayes and her children, Sheyenne, Brylee and Jaycee Roath, Virgil Hayes Jr. son, Anthany Hayes and youngest son, Shawn Hayes; one brother, Lloyd New; one sister, Shirley Houser; nephew, Kenneth Campbell; great-nephew, David Carroll; cousin, Judy Henson; close friends, Danny Miller, Pete Barnes, Alford Ward and Larry Mundell and a host of other family members and friends.Cemetery:Broken Bow Cemetery. \nTo send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Virgil Samuel Hayes Sr, please visit our floral store.
