Virgil Ray Bohanan, 61, of Wright City, passed away Friday, January 14, 2011 at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Ok. The son of Robert and Melissia (Peters) Bohanan, Virgil was born March 5, 1949 at Talihina, OK. He lived most of his life in McCurtain County and married Carolyn Willis on January 16, 1967 in Antlers, OK. Virgil enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all he was his grand-childrens greatest supporter in their events. He was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be truly missed. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Bohanan; one sister, Margaret Ludlow; grand-parents, Ed and Melcie Peters and Impson and Jincey Bohanan ; two brothers-in-law, Wendell Ludlow and Eugene Bohanon. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Carolyn of the home; mother, Melissia Bohanon of Bethel ; one daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Stacey Parker of Wright City; two sons and daughters-in-law, Virgil Jr. (Bo) and Amanda Bohanan of Wright City and Michael and Melissa Bohanan of Broken Bow; three grand-daughters, Staci (Chele) and husband Josh Ridenour, Brandy Bohanan and Tara Bohanan; seven grand-sons, Will and Dylan Parker, Brett and Casey Bohanan, Dusty, Dallas and Ethan Bohanan; three great-grandchildren, Micah, Kaleb and Rachel Ridenour; one brother and sister-in-law, Herb and Marvada Bohanan of Pickens ; seven sisters and four brothers-in-law, Eunice Bohanon of Broken Bow, Mary Bohanan of Battiest, Linda and Austin Jefferson of Bethel, Emilou and Andy Sanchez, Betty and Jimmy Tom all of Broken Bow, Brenda and Tony James of Hugo and Lois Bohanan of Bethel; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of church family and friends.Cemetery:Interment will follow in Slater Memorial Cemetery, Wright City, OK.Visitation:The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Brumley Funeral Home.Service:Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday.
