Travis "Pete" Dolton Leonard of Broken Bow, OK was born August 10, 1933 and passed away at his home on Sunday, September 27, 2015 of pancreatic cancer at the age of 82. Pete was born in Eagletown, OK and was the 6th of seven children born to John and Lessie Leonard. He was preceded in death by his parents and his six siblings, Jack Leonard, Bill Leonard, Chuck Leonard, Pat Leonard, Demma Tuck and Lois Newman. Pete was a veteran and served his country in the United States Army and was a heavy machine gunner in the Korean War. He was awarded a Purple Heart, a Combat Infantry Badge, Five Major Battle Stars, two Spearheads and the Bronze Star for bravery. He was retired from the construction, logging and pipeline industries. Pete is survived by his children, Kim Leonard and wife, Nancy of Sonora, CA, Tonia "Toni" Peavy-Parker and husband, Doyle of Round Rock, TX, Randy Leonard-Peavy of Broken Bow, OK, James Leonard and wife, Brooke of Purcell, OK, Travis Leonard of Leslie, AR, Tommy Leonard and wife, Rhonda, Scott Leonard all of Broken Bow, OK and Liane Leonard of DeQueen, AR; twenty grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by one son, Terry Leonard on March 21, 2002; one daughter, Tami Leonard on June 28, 2008 and one grandson, Jasper Leonard on January 23, 2009.
