Wonderful mother, grandmother and friend, Sue Burdette, 76, of Broken Bow parted this life on April 28, 2011 at the Paris Regional Medical Center in Paris, Texas.The daughter of Duncan and Lyda (Craddock) Shields, Sue was born March 8, 1935 in Bethel, OK. She was a member of the Broken Bow Church of Christ and had resided here all of her life. Sue retired from American State Bank after her forty year career in the banking business. She enjoyed camping, fishing and cooking and gardening. Above all else, she loved and cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Burdette; and her parents.She leaves to cherish her memory, four children, Kay Brown and husband, Bobby of Battiest, Nedra Forrest and David Hyatt of Fayetteville, AR, John McDonald and wife, Diana of Sulphur Springs, TX, Judy Clarke and husband, Gary of Eureka Springs, AR; one brother Don Shields of Red Oak, TX; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew and a host of friends.Cemetery:Interment will follow in County Line Cemetery in Pickens.Visitation:The family will receive friends at her home, 300 Circle Drive in Broken Bow, OK.Service:Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2011 at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel. \nTo send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Sue Burdette, please visit our floral store.
