Sandra Lee (Sandy) Wood, 65, former resident of Broken Bow, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010 in Scottsdale, Arizona. The daughter of Wesley and Aurelia (Malugani) Blissard, Sandy was born July 17, 1945 at Santa Rosa, California. Sandy and Louis Wood were united in marriage on May 18, 1974 in Broken Bow. She loved traveling abroad with her husband, Lou, as he worked and would learn to cook the local cuisines. Sandy was office manager for Totem Realty in Alaska and while living there she kept children from the Aleutian Islands during the school year. Being an exceptionally giving person, she taught as a substitute, donating her salary to the school library to buy books. She had a very outgoing personality and made friends easily wherever she went. Sandy enjoyed reading, camping, water sports, and teaching Bible school. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Aurelia Blissard She is survived by her husband, Lou of the home; a brother and sister-in-law, Dennis James and Janet Blissard, Lawrenceburg KY; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Wendy and Mike Hubbard, Jennifer and Buddy Touchstone, both of Broken Bow; three sisters-in-law, Jenny Smith and husband Donald of Broken Bow, Betty Beaman of Broken Bow, and Donna Hoffman of Oklahoma City; nieces and nephews, Mia and Cody Holcomb, Natalie and Israel Valentine, Lacey Hubbard, Denise Blissard, Michelle and Briean Humstead, Robin and Sarah Smith, Cindy and Larry VanZandt, Wendy Schaffer, Aaron and Angela Lane, Mark Beaman, Jason and Rebecca Beaman; numerous great nieces, nephews; beloved pets, Bo and Heidi; and a host of friends.Cemetery:Oak Grove CemeteryVisitation:6:00-8:00p.m. Friday, December 17, 2010 at the Brumley Funeral HomeService:2:00p.m., Saturday, December 18, 2010 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church, Broken Bow. \nTo send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Sandra Wood, please visit our floral store.
