Sam married Carol Chappell May 27, 1977 at Water Mill Freewill Baptist Church, Valliant, OK. He was a member of Hochatown Assembly of God. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, riding in the mountains, watching sports and having his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren around him.He was preceded in death by his parents, Vester and Rhoda (Beavers) Floyd; mother and father-in-law Richard and Nellie Chappell; two brothers, Leon Stuart and Buster Stuart.Sam leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Carol Floyd of the home; four daughters and sons-in-law and one son, Paula and Harold Daniel, Valliant, Bruce Long, Broken Bow, Michelle Matney, Natchitoches, LA, Beverly and Gordon Beran, Marshall, TX and Jennifer and Josh Mussett, Durant;; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law George and Dixie Floyd, Talala, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and a special caretaker, Tammie Davenport. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 12, 2009, Hochatown Assembly of God, Hochatown, OK. Interment will follow at Valliant Cemetery, Valliant, OK. Bro. Melvin Baker and nephew, Bro.
