Ruth Arnold Doan 95, formerly of Eagletown, born in Pleasant Hill, Oklahoma on June 18, 1914, passed away on Sunday morning, April 18th at 12:20 a.m. at the Memorial Heights Nursing Home in Idabel. Ruth was a generous mother, grandmother, and teacher. She was always ready to lend a hand or donate to a childs cause. Her career as a teacher spanned thirty years, beginning in Wright City, Mt. Herman and finally Eagletown, where she made her home. She retired after teaching Home Economics for twenty-four years in Eagletown Public Schools. Ruth enjoyed sewing and cooking and was always willing to whip up a meal or a coconut crme pie on a moments notice. She always had a song in her heart and loved Gospel music. Some of her favorite times were spent gathered around the piano with family harmonizing to, Ill fly away and other Gospel favorites. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; Addy M. and Mattie (Harris) Power; three brothers, Nelson, Wallace, and Milburn Power; a daughter, Virginia Fields; and two grandchildren.
