Roger Neal Ensley, 61, of Wright City, OK passed away April 1, 2014 at his home in Wright City, OK. He was born September 2, 1952 in Oklahoma City, OK the son of Elvin and Zane (Noel) Ensley. Roger and Jamie Gasaway were married July 11, 1975 in Okmulgee, OK. Roger graduated from Wright City High School in 1971 and continued his education at OSU, graduating in 1975 with a BS degree in Agricultural Science. He taught Vo-Ag at schools for a time and most of his career was working for the OK State Dept. of Social Services; ten years as the school based social worker at Wright City Public Schools. Roger worshiped as a long time member of the First Baptist Church in Wright City, OK. He was a long time active member of the Kiamichi Street Rod Club were he used his 1934 Chevrolet Panel as a tool to share Christ at all of the car shows. He loved hot rods, drag racing, deer camp, aviation and flying planes. Roger was a devoted family man and cherished his time spent with his children and especially his granddaughters. He leaves to cherish his memory wife, Jamie Ensley of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Monica Ensley; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Clay Alford; mother, Zane Ensley; brother, Wendell Ensley and wife, Rhonda; sister, Regina Ensley Partridge and husband Frank; granddaughters, Alyssa Alford, Kensley Alford, Emily Ensley and Madalynn Ensley; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Elvin (Evie) Ensley. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, April 4, 2014 at the First Baptist Church, Wright City, OK with Bro. Aaron Strange and Bro. Jimmie Jeter officiating. At the request of the family please drive your old cars and hot rods to the service. There will be reserved seating and parking available.
