Richard James Bayliss, Jr., 65, of the Golden area, passed away Friday evening, September 16, 2016, at the Medical Center of Plano, Plano, TX. Richard was born June 24, 1951, in Oklahoma City, OK, the son of Richard James Bayliss, Sr. and Dorothy Mae (Reeves) Bayliss. Richard was a member of the Golden Baptist Church and had lived in McCurtain County most of his life. Richard served in the Vietnam War and was a retired transportation maintenance worker #3 equipment operator from the Department of Transportation. He loved his kids and thoroughly enjoyed being with and doing things with his grandchildren. He spent his time at the Kountry Store in Golden or at his home. He enjoyed socializing and was also known as the Mayor of Golden. Richard and Jena Jacobs were united in marriage in Forney, TX, August of 1972, spending 44 wonderful years together. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Bayliss and Dorothy Bloomfield; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ruth and James Jacobs. Richard leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Jena, of the home; two daughters, Shacy Parker, of Broken Bow, OK, and Shelly Turnage, of Broken Bow, OK; twin guardian sons, Richard James and Robert Allen Parker, of Broken Bow, OK; a guardian daughter, Raigon Parker, of Broken Bow, OK; step-dad, Benjamin Bloomfield; brothers, Raymond Bayliss, and wife, Carolyn, of Oklahoma City, OK, and John L. Bayliss, and wife, Sharon, of Mooryer, OK; three half-sisters, Dorothy Brumett, of Oklahoma City, OK, Benny Bloomfield, of Oklahoma City, OK, and Donna Lynn Bloomfield, of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Jessy Johnson of Woodward, OK, Jamie Turnage and wife Alyssa Turnage, and Jenny Turnage, all of Antlers, OK; special relatives, Vicki and Robert Duckworth, of Greenville, TX, and Rani and Robin Duckworth, of Dallas, TX, Penny and Roy Harbour, of Broken Bow, OK, and Michael Harbour, of Mississippi, and Cody Harbour, of Broken Bow, OK; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and many friends. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at 11:00 AM, at the Watson Memorial Cemetery, in the Golden Community, with Brother Roy Harbour officiating. Family will receive friends Tuesday, September 20, 2016, from 6:00 - 8:00, at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Bow, OK.
