Opal Marie Howard, 67, of Granbury, TX, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday, December 10, 2007. She was born December 29, 1939, in Haworth, OK, the daughter of Authur M. Wheeler and Annie L. (Owens).Opal and Stanley A. Howard were united in marriage on June 28, 1963 in Texarkana, TX. Opal worked as an assistant Dietician for the Center for M.H.M.R. of Stevensville, TX. She was very creative and was often involved in projects around her home such as sewing, arts and crafts and decorating. Her family was very precious to her and she cherished the time spent with her beloved husband, children and grandchildren. She loved her Lord and Savior and was of the Christian faith.She was preceded in death by her father and mother; stepmother, LaDell Wheeler; grandmother, Mary Casey; mother and father-in-law, Lee and Nova Howard; brother-in-law, Bobby Lee Howard.Opal leaves to cherish her memory her husband of forty-four years, Stanley Howard, of the home; three children, Sheila Howard, Oklahoma City, OK, Steve Howard, Granbury, TX, David Howard and his wife Gina, Texarkana, TX; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, David Wheeler, Eagletown, Pete Wheeler, Eagletown; three sisters, Margaret Robertson, Texarkana, TX, Nita Kay Lenard, Broken Bow, Patricia Lambert, Idabel; several other family members and many friends.Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 14, 2007, at Eagletown Cemetery, with Bro.
