Norma Bozarth Gorden, 91, formerly of Idabel passed away, Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Fort Gibson Nursing Home. She was born December 15, 1921, in Redland, Oklahoma, to parents Layfette Buck and Evylena Welch Bozarth. She attended Haworth schools with her brothers and a sister. She was happily married to Gilbert Bird Gorden for 66 years. She and Gilbert owned and operated Gorden?s Department Store for a number of years in Idabel, Oklahoma. Norma and Gilbert were members of First Presbyterian Church in Idabel since 1950. She was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star. When not working in the department store, she was a homemaker raising her three children; Patricia Ann, Peggy Lynn, and Guy Gilbert. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her daughter, Peggy Gorden Parish, and by her brothers and sister; Raymond, Charlie, Henry, and Carl Bozarth and Irene Bozarth City. She is survived by two children and their spouses, Patricia Gorden Akard and husband, Ben of Wagoner, Oklahoma, and Guy Gorden and wife, Beverly of Enchanted Oaks, Texas. She was known lovingly as Granny to seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. The grandchildren are Benny Akard of Muskogee, Rana Akard Miller of Wagoner, Philip and Derick Parish of Broken Arrow, Jenny Parish Moll of Broken Arrow, Gregory Guy Gorden of Los Angeles, and Elizabeth Gorden Wright of Fort Worth. The grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers. Her marriage to Gilbert and their shared love was one of great length.
