Michael Shields Obituary (1965 - 2017)

Michael Leamon Shields SR, 52, of Idabel, OK passed from this life on November 26, 2017 in Texarkana, TX. Michael was born August 23, 1965 in Amarillo, TX the son of Shelby and Wanda Lou (Williams) Shields. Michael and Carolyn Kuykendall were united in marriage on October 24, 1983 at the Albion Church in Negley, TX. Michael was a member of Pleasant Hill Community Church. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and hunting. He was an appliance repairman for over 30 years and was voted #1 appliance man in McCurtain County. Michael loved spending time with his boys, most of all he loved his eleven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by father, Shelby Wayne Shields; grandmother, Johnnie Mae Williams and special bro-in-law, Melvin Kuykendall. Michael leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Carolyn Shields and mother, Wanda Williams Coffman, both of Idabel, OK; three sons and their children, Michael Shields, Jr and wife Alisia and their children, Keiden, Riley, Corvin, Graicyn, Kaeson, Layla, Alainna, Hayden and Tristen, all of McAlester, OK, James Shields and wife, Marisol and daughter, Erin of Broken Bow, OK, Randall Shields and wife, Misty and son, Ryker of Valliant, OK; three brothers, Richard Wayne Shields and wife, Anjanette of Holly Creek, OK, Bobby Clark of Greenville, TX and Kevin Clark and wife, Stephanie of Garvin, OK; three sisters, Vickie Franks and husband, Ronnie of Idabel, OK, Connie Taylor and husband, Rick of Gladewater, TX and Gennie Campbell and husband, Jerry of Millerton, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be 1 pm, Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Brumley Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Bow, OK. The family will receive friends from 6 pm -8 pm, Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Brumley Funeral Home.
