Mary worked as a welder in the ship yards during World War II. She was a member of Oak Hill Independent Assembly of God, Oak Hill Community. Mrs. Shinn loved attending church, growing flowers, gardening, crocheting and always looked forward to family gatherings. There was a special place in her heart for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clinton E. Shinn; son, Dennis Shinn; sister, Billie McClinton; brother, Leon Barfield; two grandsons, Allen and James David Jackson; one granddaughter, Brenda Shinn and one step-son Maynard Shinn. Mary is survived by six sons, Billy Joe Jackson and wife, Jeanie, Pittsburg, TX, Neil Jackson and wife, JoAnn, Oak Hill Community, James Stark and wife, Vada, Haworth, OK, Wes Shinn and wife, Kathy, Madison, MS, O.J. Shinn and wife, Jean, Victoria, MS and Archie Shinn and wife, Nell, AZ; one daughter, Bonnie Walker, Fayetteville, AR; one sister, Juanita Barnes, Fortuna, CA; twenty six grandchildren, thirty four great-grandchildren, fourteen great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews; several special friends and her church family.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Independent Assembly of God. Bro. Neil Jackson, Bro. Bill Jackson and Bro. Kevin Smith will officiate.
