Born April 22, 1948 to Olena Dockins and Myon Giddens, on October 13, 2010 Leroy was called to be with the Lord at the age of 62. He was the third child of eleven. Leroy spent his life in the Beaver Dam Community. He started working early as a young boy, and he worked numerous farm jobs throughout the Bowie County area. He later met and married Joyce Walker where two children were born. As he grew older he became employed with Red River Army Depot, Lone Star Steel and last employment was with the county of DeKalb until his health failed. He was very active and he loved nature, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and collecting guns but most important were his grandkids. He, to his grandkids will always be the greatest. Leroy never met a stranger, and was always willing to lend a hand. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert Giddens; two sisters, Verdell Neal and Verna Moore. He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Lee Dale Giddens of Idabel,OK; two daughters, Carla Giddens Richardson (Matthew) of Broken Bow, Ok and Angela Giddens of Edmond, OK; four brothers, Eddie Giddens, Donald Ray Giddens, James Giddens all of DeKalb, TX and Charlie Giddens of Harris, OK; four sisters, Alice Giddens and Barbara Johnson of DeKalb, TX and Regina Woods (Roger) of Harris , OK; three grandchildren; La Michael Young and Nia Blackwell of Edmond, OK and Alyssa Jamie Walker of Broken Bow, OK. Funeral services will he held Saturday, October 16, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at the Beaver Dam Missionary Baptist Church in Beaver Dam, TX with Rev. Clifton Murray officiating.
