Leona Marlene Duke Ensley, 87, of the Oak Hill Community passed away Monday, February 14, 2011 at her home. Leona was born September 21, 1923 at Millerton, OK, the daughter of Sam and Rhoda Daniels Duke. She and her husband James Ensley had lived in McCurtain County for most of their lives, moving back here from the north Texas area. Leona was an active member of the Golden Senior Citizens group and an avid domino player. She enjoyed working her crossword puzzles and listening to Gospel music. Leona loved the Lord and faithfully attended church at Oak Hill A/G and formerly at Broken Bow Church of God. Leona could be counted on to do what she could to help out. Although shed faced a lot struggles in life, Leona always looked on the brighter side and trusted God. Leona enjoyed being with all of her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Sam and Rhoda Duke; her husband, James Ensley; four sons, James Ensley, Jr., Billy Wayne Ensley, Jimmy Lee Ensley, and Jerry Lynn Ensley; one daughter, Bonnie Faye Duke; and her brother and sisters.
