Melba "LaVern" Toliver, of Broken Bow passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017 at the Broken Bow Health and Rehab. LaVern was born June 5, 1933 in Golden, OK, the daughter of George and Weacie (Ruth) Eason. LaVern and JB Toliver were united in marriage on June 7, 1950 in DeQueen, AR. She loved all her family and friends and enjoyed cooking, quilting, fishing, and going to the Golden and Holly Creek Senior Citizens Groups. LaVern also enjoyed helping other residents at the Broken Bow Health and Rehab. She was a former member of the Broken Bow Eastern Stars. LaVern was preceded in death by her husband, JB; parents, George and Weacie Eason; brothers and sisters, Carl Eason, Alcie Altom, Myrtle Gregory, Alvin Eason, and Doris Helms; and Charles and Mary Toliver, and Lucille and Les Grable. LaVern leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Jacquie Lawrence and husband, Bobby of Broken Bow, Kathy Milam and husband, Jim of Portland, TN, Sandra Delacerda and husband, Darren of DeKalb, TX, Debbie Layfield, and husband, Tim, of Many, LA, and Angela Son and fiance, Eric Perry of DeKalb, TX; sons, Bill Toliver and wife, Marcia of Portland, TN and Jay Toliver and wife, Misty of DeKalb, TX; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie and Don Stout, Dollie and Charles Cunningham; sister, LaVenie Eason; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wendell and Louise Eason and Wayne and Maurine Eason, Inez Claborn; many other relatives; and a host of friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at 10:00 AM, at the Golden Baptist Church with Brother Steve Buchanan. Burial will follow at the Watson Cemetery, Oak Hill Community.
