Lavada Ora Baker, 79, of Wright City, OK, passed away March 4, 2016, at her home. She was born February 20, 1937, in Broken Bow, OK, the daughter of Mike Davis and Sabbitt (Tonihka) Crosby. Lavada was born and raised in McCurtain County and was a member of the Chihowa-i-Chuka Church, in Wright City, OK. She and Madison Baker were married on December 21, 1957, in Broken Bow, OK. Lavada enjoyed cooking, sewing, taking care of her grandchildren, singing, being a Sunday School teacher, directing Christmas programs, reading her Bible, playing chicken feet, praying and witnessing to people. Lavada is survived by her sons, Madison "Bo" Baker, Jr., of Moore, OK, Michael Baker, Wayne Baker, Rayburn Baker, all of Wright City, OK, Reggie Baker, of Broken Bow, OK, Jason Baker, of Granite, OK; daughters, Marquitta (Jan) Seeley, of Beaumont, MS, Avis Tugwell, of West Monroe, LA, Edwanna Briley, of Wright City, OK, Myrna Taylor, of Jay, OK; brother, Alpheus "Fish" Crosby, of Idabel, OK; sisters, Vinita Shomo, of Idabel, OK, Lorenza Brandy, of Valliant, OK, Ester Crosby, of Idabel, OK, Twilla Jarvis, of Idabel, OK, Cheryl Hudson, of Idabel, OK, Esta Bitsouie, of Tulsa, OK; 31 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; cousins and other relatives; many friends and her Church family; and sister-in-law, Bernetta Baker, of Elton, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Madison Baker; daughter, Lenora Williams; step-mom, Ida Crosby; and brothers, LeRoy Crosby and Arthur Crosby, Sr. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at 2:00PM, at the Wright City High School Auditorium, with Rev. Vince Maytubby and Rev. R.V. Colbert officiating. Visitation will be held at Chihowa-i-Chuka Church, in Wright City, OK, on Monday, March 7, 2016 from 6:00PM - 8:00PM.
