Kenneth "Flash" Wayne Hampton, 63, of Silver Creek, passed away, August 16, 2016, in McAlester, OK. He was born January 28, 1953, in DeQueen, AR, the son of Truman and Juanita (Sheffield) Hampton. \n\nKenny graduated from Battiest High School and attended college at Murray State College, in Tishomingo, which he called MIT; he studied wildlife and photography (and girls). Flash lived in Silver Creek (between Pickens and Battiest). Kenny was the 'head dog' at Flash Photo, where he spent many years taking pictures, lately at rodeos. He was associated with the OYRA. Flash grew up in the Pickens Assembly of God Church and this week he rededicated his life to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. \n\nKenneth was preceded in death by his father, Truman Hampton; his paternal grandparents, Lois and Edgar Hampton; his maternal grandparents, Lee and Lula Sheffield; and his best friend, Tony Foster. \n\nKenneth leaves to cherish his memory, one son, Stephen Hampton, of South Eastern Washington State; his mother, Juanita Hampton, of Silver Creek; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lou and Ron Walker, of Broken Bow, OK, Jana and Larry Bryant, of Silver Creek; three nephews, Aiden Bryant (Shag Nasty), Heath Sanders, Jeff Bryant, and family; three nieces, April Sanders, Chrissa Tinney, and husband, Brandon, Chancee Rowell, and family; one great-nephew, Sean Tinney; a very special aunt, Dorothy Moss, of Broken Bow, OK; one step-son, Casey Jones, and family, of Odessa, TX, and a host of extended family and friends. \n\nA Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 20, 2016, at the Pickens Assembly of God Church, Pickens, OK, with Bro. Gary Furr and Bro. Jerry Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at Battiest Cemetery, Battiest, OK.
