Kenneth Ray Hamilton, 77, of Broken Bow won his battle with cancer through his faith in God. He went to be with his father on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at his home in Broken Bow. He was born to Paul James and Velma Marie (Spindle) Hamilton on March 23, 1936. Kenneth married Helen Marie Turnage on April 16, 1955 and shared fifty eight years together. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Broken Bow. Kenneth loved being with his family and friends. He also enjoyed going to Broken Bow Senior Citizens and Kiwanis. He served several years on the Broken Bow Education Foundation, Library Board, Little Dixie Community Action Association, EMS Board of Directors and numerous other community organizations. Kenneth loved writing for the newspaper, especially when it included covering school activities and sports. He took pride in being a true journalist. Kenneth also helped establish baseball at the Broken Bow High School and was a co-author with Bob Burke on the book "The History of Broken Bow." He is survived by his wife Helen of the home; son, Keith Hamilton and wife, Rosey of Washington, OK; daughter, Becky Dean and husband, Jack of Broken Bow; sister, Helen Hammer and husband, Tack of Broken Bow; grandchildren, Derek Dean, Samantha Snead and husband, Justin, Jessica Dean and Justin Vaughn and Dillon, Darrell and Riley Hamilton.
