Katie Esther Stanford Obituary (1913 - 2005)

She was known as Aunt Katie or Ms. Katie by many and was raised in Idabel, OK. Katie was married to Clinton Stanford and spent her married life in the Valley of Texas at San Benito, TX. Upon the death of her husband she returned to Idabel to spend the remainder of her years with her family. Having no children of her own, she loved and cared for many nieces, nephews (great and great-great), neighbors, and friends. Katie loved spending time with family and friends. She was very dedicated to her church, By-Pass Church of Christ and service to the Lord. Katie was giving of herself and time unselfishly.She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Stanford; parents, Charlie and Evie (Herd) Dossey; one sister, Donnie (Dossey) Mullens; two brothers, Leroy and Authur Dossey; two half sisters, Ola (Dossey) Womack and Myrtle (Dossey) Allen; five half brothers, Homer, Kelsie, Dewey, Hubert, and Fred Dossey.She is survived by one sister, Lillie Haltom, several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 17, 2005, at the By-Pass Church of Christ, Idabel, OK.
