Karen Sue Adams Ward, 69 of the Silver Creek Community, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at her home. She was born September 23, 1941 in Battiest, OK the daughter of Robert and Dorothy (Sullivan) Adams. Karen was affiliated with the Pickens Assembly of God and the Pickens Free Holiness Church. She was a graduate of Battiest High School and held a Masters Degree in Mathematics from the University of Tulsa. She taught at Nathan Hail High School, Broken Bow High School, for twenty years at the Tulsa Community College, and ten years at Battiest High School. She enjoyed teaching, shopping and loved her cat and horses, and spending time with family. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Robert F. Adams and Jewell Adams. She is survived by her husband, Arley R. Ward of the home, four children and their spouses, Rob and Kelley Spradling of Battiest, OK, Kelley and Kevin Kerns of Talequah, OK, Arley R. Ward II of Winston Salem, N.C., Shane Brumley Ward of Winston Salem, N.C.; a special cousin Patty Holmes of Ft.
