Juanita Lois Wilson Trease, 88, long time resident of Broken Bow, died Wednesday, June 30, 2010 in Ramona, OK. Juanita was born in Broken Bow, OK, September 25, 1921 to Frank and Maud (Thurman) Wilson. A 1939 graduate of Broken Bow High School, she continued her education at Murray State immediately after high school graduation. She married John Louis Trease, an aviator with the U.S. Army Air Corps on June 7, 1943. When he returned from the South Pacific Theater at the end of WWII they continued their education at East Central State in Ada. Mrs. Trease began her teaching career in Kansas where she taught for 3 years. The family moved to Tulsa where she taught for 5 years. In 1964 they moved from Tulsa to Broken Bow. Juanita received a Masters in English from East Texas State University. Mrs. Trease taught English at Broken Bow High School for 20 years, retiring in 1984. Her husband John Trease passed away in 2000. Mrs. Trease is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Susan and Richard Hunt of Ramona, her grandson and his wife John and Hollye Hunt of Norman, her two sisters Gladys Stephens of Broken Bow and Betty Clanton of St. Johns, AZ, as well as nieces, nephews, and many cousins. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Brumley Funeral Chapel in Broken Bow with Rev. Joyce Ludwig officiating. Interment will follow in Broken Bow Cemetery.
