Joy Gressett, 82, of Broken Bow passed away February 17, 2012 at Medical Center of Plano, TX. The daughter of Millard F. and Luda (Gammon) Copeland, Joy was born August 28, 1929 in Battiest, OK. Joy and Thomas were united in marriage on March 6, 1954 in Farris, TX. She had been a member of this community for many years and had lovingly volunteered her time singing at the McCurtain Manor Nursing Home. Joy was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family, traveling, singing, playing games and participating in many activities at the Senior Citizens Center. She also loved pretty things, especially jewelry. She loved worshiping at her home church, First Assembly of God in Broken Bow. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters; Juanell Harper and Loma McAdoo. Joy leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Thomas Gressett of Broken Bow; two sons, William Lee Gressett of Frederick, OK and Gary Lynn Gressett of Broken Bow; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Arvell Gressett of Las Vegas, NV; one grandson, Daniel David Gressett and wife Kayla of Cameron, TX; one sister, Olene and Joe Beshirs of Durant, OK; two brothers, Cecil and Naomi Copeland and Lawrence and Val Copeland both of Mason, MI; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members in the Copeland, Gammon and Gressett families as well as her church family and friends from the Senior Citizens Center.Cemetery:Interment will follow in Hochatown Cemetery in Hochatown, OK \nTo send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Joy A.
