Johnny Harold Ferguson, 71, of Idabel, OK passed away on June 7, 2015 at his home in Idabel surrounded by his family. He was born June 12, 1943 in Idabel, OK to J.C. and Cecile (O?Rear) Ferguson. Johnny graduated from Idabel High School in 1961 and served his country in the National Guard. He received his bachelors and masters from Southeastern in Durant, Oklahoma. He was a life-long teacher and coach teaching 4 years in Texas and 26 years in Broken Bow School system. He coached basketball and taught history and driver?s education. Johnny was an avid fisherman winning the Oklahoma state championship in 1974 fishing numerous tournaments on many lakes, but always loving Broken Bow lake the best. He was an accomplished athlete playing football, basketball and baseball in high school. Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Cecile (O?Rear) Ferguson. He is survived by his daughters, Reechia and Danny Phillips of Yukon, OK and Brandi (Ferguson) Fielding of Broken Bow, OK; the mother of his children and life-long friend, Kay Ferguson of Broken Bow, OK; two grandsons, Sabian Colbert and Becks Phillips of Yukon, OK; brother, Elton Ferguson of Idabel, OK; special niece and nephew, Sheree Robertson of Tempe, AZ and Phillip and Jennifer Ferguson of Helendale, CA.Cemetery:Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery, Broken Bow, OK. \nTo send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Johnny Ferguson, please visit our floral store.
