Jimmy Wayne Barrett, 53, of Amity, AR, passed away November 11, 2016, in Smithville, OK. Jimmy was born March 19, 1963, to Jacob Floy Lay Barrett and Dora Mae (Lewis) Barrett, in Talihina, OK. Jimmy and his family were affiliated with the Old School Baptist Church and he had lived in McCurtain County for almost a year, coming from Amity, AR. Jimmy enjoyed gardening, swimming, camping, dancing, and singing. He loved being with his family and even if they were apart at times, they were always together. Jimmy married Doretha Pistubbee on November 5, 1998, in Smithville, OK, and raised their children in Boswell, OK. Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Raymond and Clay Pistubbee; grandfather, Hershell Sullivan; uncle Ray Barrett; aunt Sue Francis; great aunt Minnie Edwards; and cousin Johnny Watson; grandma, Viola McKinnon. Jimmy leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Doretha Barrett, of Boswell, OK; his parents, Floy Lay and Dora Barrett; his son, Kyle Barrett, Boswell, OK; daughters, Kaitlyn Barrett, of Boswell, OK, and Alicia Guin, of Amity, AR; brother, Robert Barrett, and wife, Lisa, of Amity, AR; sisters, Cathy Henthorn, of Amity, AR, Sandra Keener, of Amity, AR, and Delores Cogburn, of Norman, AR; grandchild, Keziah Yarbrough; grandmother, Rhoda Sullivan; special niece, Crystal Cogburn; several other nieces and nephews; other relatives, including special cousins; special friends, Rodney Johnson, Tarie Grant Stonebraker, along with many other friends.Visitation is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Thursday, November 17, 2016, at Brumley Funeral Home, Broken Bow with procession leaving for Nanih Chita, Smithville, OK, at 11:00. \nTo send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Jimmy Barrett, please visit our floral store.
