Jim Oliver, 88, of Broken Bow, passed away November 15, 2012 at Broken Bow Health & Rehab in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. He was born August 21, 1924 in Steele, Missouri, the son of James Houston and Ida Gail (McKinney) Oliver. He and Evelyn Johnson were married November 21, 1945, in DeQueen, Arkansas. Jim was a lifelong resident of the community. He was a retired Troy-Built Tiller Distributor and Maintenance Supervisor at the Truck Shop for Weyerhaeuser. He served in the United States Army. He was a life member of DVA, VFW, Masonic Blue Lodge and Scottish Rites of Oklahoma. He served as an Elder in 1st Christian Church for 15 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Broken Bow, where he served as Deacon since 1971. Jim enjoyed fishing, raising cattle and loved playing the guitar. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Evelyn Oliver; six brothers; and three sisters. Jim leaves to cherish his memory one daughter and son-in-law, Lana (Oliver) and Howard Bragg of Lewisville, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Penny Oliver of Mt. Pleasant, Texas and Douglas and Karen Oliver of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Lorri and Lynn Farris, Leanne and Felix DeAnda, Jamie and Rickey Leach, Jacob and Amber Oliver, Erin and Chisum Womack, Chad and Amanda Oliver and Beth Oliver; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Albert and Libby Johnson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.Cemetery:Broken Bow Cemetery \nTo send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Jim Oliver, please visit our floral store.
