Jim Cowell, 48, of Idabel passed way March 4, 2011 in Idabel. The son of Dean and Nona Cowell, Jim was born March 10, 1962 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was a member of the Idabel High School champion track team from 1976 1980, excelling in the 220, 440 and one mile relay teams. Jim was a veteran of the US Army serving our country during Desert Storm as a Military Policeman. He enjoyed hunting deer and fishing. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Zadie Sharp, paternal grandparents, Lonnie and Nettie Cowell. Jim is survived by his parents, Dean and Nona Cowell of the Forrest Hill Community; one son, Jayson Dean Cowell and his wife, Shannon, of McAlester, OK; three stepchildren, Memrie, Keehanna and Andrew, all of McAlester; one brother, Randy Cowell and his wife, Liz, of Valliant, OK; two nephews, Marc Cowell and his wife, Andrea, of Yukon, Matthew Cowell of Edmond, OK; great niece and nephew, Caylin Cowell and Caden Cowell of Yukon; many other cousins and friends.Cemetery:Forrest Hill CemeteryService:Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 6, 2011, at Forrest Hill Cemetery with Bro.
