Jill Cabello

Jill Annette Cabello, age 62, of Mena, Arkansas died Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the Mena Regional Health System. She was born on Saturday, June 20, 1959 to Stephen Douglas Barney and Carol Mae (LaBuy) Barney in Rockford, Illinois.

Jill was a machinist in Rockford, IL before retiring to Mena in 2010. She was an unbelievably talented crocheter who made many blankets for family, friends, and foster children. She adored her family, her cats, and and reading all genres of books. She discovered a passion for travel within the last few years and took several cruises, visiting Jamaica and Mexico. She loved adventure and a good story!

She is preceded in death by both parents.

Jill is survived by her husband of 27 years, Juan A. Cabello of Mena; daughter Misti (Kevin) Clark of Frisco,TX; son Phillip (Mandy) Savage of Sallisaw, OK; son Christopher Grimes of Salem, IL; brother Daniel (Jody) Barney of Meridianville AL; sister Sandra Ward of Lone Rock, WI; brother Stephen (Joy) Barney of Mena, AR; eight grandchildren, nine nieces and nephews, and numerous other family and dear friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 2:00-4:00 PM at the Daisy Room (behind Janssen Florists) in Mena. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas.

Jill had a personal goal to support women and children escaping crisis situations. Therefore, if anyone would like to make a donation in lieu of flowers, the family has chosen the Fort Smith Crisis Intervention Center. Donations can be completed through their website at fscic.org.
