Jewell Christine Gunter Obituary (1926 - 2020)

Jewell Christine Gunter, of Glover, passed from this life April 22, 2020 at her home. She was born November 19, 1926, in Stringtown, to William and Robbie Etta (Turner) Gunter. Christine had lived in McCurtain County for the last 57 years coming from California. She enjoyed fishing, picking wild onions and poke salad, and working outside the house. Christine was known as a helper to anyone that needed it. Christine was preceded in death by her parents; her first child, Larry Griswald; daughters, Aundrea Fowler and Kathy Bixby; and four sisters. Christine was survived by her children, Gary Griswald, (Janet), of Bowie, Richard McCarn, of Tuskahoma, Rodney McCarn, (Donna), of Monaque, Robbie McCarn, of Glover, Joe Scribner, of Enid, and Johnna Ramsey, of Glover; brother, William Gunter, of California; sisters, Nadene Willaby, of Stringtown, and Billy Faye Sweeny, of California; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at 2:00PM at the Glover Cemetery, Glover, OK.
