James L. Virgin was born September 14, 1932 at Oak Hill, OK to John and Carrie (Warren) Virgin. He departed this life on April 10, 2013 at the age of 80 years, six months and twenty six days. James served his country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He served with the 45th division. James married Pat Lambert on March 18, 1953. They shared 60 years together. He was a member of Sweethome Church of Christ in Broken Bow. James retired from Weyerhaeuser in 1997 after 33 years. He was a road grader operator. He enjoyed horse trading and horse sales. He loved people and never met a stranger. If you met James you liked him. Preceding James in death were his parents, three brothers, Warren Virgin of Golden, OK, Perry Virgin of Idabel, OK and Bobby Virgin of Glover, OK; three sisters, Lorene Gibson of Oak Hill, Inez Clayborn of Ringold, LA and Zenora Thomas of Honey Grove, OK. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Pat of the home; two sons, Mike Virgin and wife, Tammie of Sweethome Community and Jeff Virgin and wife, Carol of Holly Creek; one daughter, Tina Virgin of Broken Bow; one brother, Wayne Virgin of Holly Creek; a special nephew, JC Gibson and wife, Mae of Oak Hill; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, three step-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
