James Stanley (Jim) Crews, 74, passed away in his home surrounded by loved ones on August 19, 2016, in Millerton, OK. Jim was born February 26, 1942, in Fernandina Beach, FL, to Thomas Jefferson Crews, Sr. and Julia Cecil (Barnard) Crews. Jim was of the Baptist Faith and had lived in McCurtain County since 1971. Jim was a retired superintendent of Weyerhaeuser. He was a pilot and flight instructor. He loved to deep sea fish, game hunt, and golf. He had a love for Harley Davidson Motorcycles and driving around in the country with his dogs. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and especially his furry baby, Kodee girl. Jim was an active Mason. He served 4 years in the Army; stationed in Germany, defending the East and West borders of Germany. He and Doris Elliott were married in DeQueen, AR, on April 13, 2011. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jefferson and Julia Crews; daughter, Cheryl Annette Crews; and brother Thomas Jefferson Crews, Jr. Jim leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Doris Crews, of the home; sons, James Stanley Crews, Jr., and wife, Susan, of Whitesboro, TX, and John Travis Crews, and long-time partner, Christina Neace, of Houston, TX; daughter, Lisa (Crews) Cooley, and husband, Clay, of Dallas, TX; brothers, Robert "Scot" Crews, and wife, Barbara, of Bellingham, WA, and Steven Wayne Crews, of Rome, GA; sister, Sylvia Annette Crews, of Jacksonville, FL; eight grandchildren, Chase Evans Cooley, Cody James Crews, Colton Buchanon Crews, Taylor Renee Crews, Cassidy Leigh Crews, Ciara Nicole Cooley, Chance Evans Cooley, and Connor James Crews; a host of nieces and nephews; numerous cousins and other relatives; and a host of friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at 2:00 PM, at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Bow, OK, with Tag Rowan officiating.
