J.D. Whisenhunt Obituary (1925 - 2015)

J.D. Whisenhunt, 89. of Broken Bow, OK, passed away February 15, 2015, at McCurtain Manor Nursing Home in Broken Bow, OK. He was born August 5, 1925, in Glover, OK, the son of Jesse Daniel and Pearl Daisy (Raines) Whisenhunt. He was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Shirley and Justin; grandson, Justin Whisenhunt, Jr.; son-in-laws, Derald Allen and Lemuel Guthery; and sister, Lulla Mae Bean. J.D. and Donnie (Tomlinson) were married in DeQueen, AR, on October 26, 1949, and shared sixty-five years together this past October. J.D. enjoyed working on the farm, bailing hay, and working on his tractor. He retired from Weyerhaeuser Company after 35 years. He also enjoyed traveling. J.D. is survived by his spouse, Donnie Whisenhunt, of the home; daughters, Evelyn Jo Guthery, of Friendswood, TX, and Arlene Allen, of Glover, OK; three sisters, Donna Lee Lovely, Josephine Bacorn, and Faye Sokolove; four brothers, Bo Whisenhunt, Glen Whisenhunt, Ron Whisenhunt, and Jimmy Whisenhunt; six grandchildren, Bill, Joe and Sam Guthrey, Arlen Allen, Jesse Whisenhunt, and Denea Whisenhunt; a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.Cemetery:Interment will follow at Glover Cemetery, Glover, OK.
