J. C. "Cob" Compton, 72, of Golden, OK passed away November 9, 2014 at Sumner, TX. He was born October 25, 1942 in Honey Grove Community, OK the son of Ardie and Hazel (Wesson) Compton. J.C. and Delorse were united in marriage March 19, 1966 in Broken Bow, OK. He was a member of the Golden Baptist Church and had lived in the community all of his life. J.C. enjoyed fishing for bass and crappie, hunting, camping and spending time with his family. He was always helping people in the community but wouldn?t let people help him. As a young man he enjoyed riding bulls and horses, coon hunting, and enjoyed watching bull riding on tv when he got older. He played cards with friends every Saturday night at his home. J.C. leaves to cherish his memory wife, Jean Compton of the home; Kirk Compton and wife, Christi of Sumner, TX; daughter, Pam Jones and husband, Stacy of Valliant, OK; sisters, Bonnie Porter of Willis, TX, Pat Hamilton and husband, Jerry of Rowlett, TX; grandchildren, Cody Compton, Cory Compton and Hailey Jones; fishing buddy, Jimmy Grace; his Saturday night card playing friends; a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marvdean Ward; brother, Joe Compton.
