Isaac B. Melson

Isaac Boone Melson, 81, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Nov. 19, 2019. Boone was born on Feb. 4, 1938 in Holly Creek, OK and was a resident there most of his life. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Boone was a veteran of the United States Army, retired from the US Postal Service--rural carrier, and was an avid lover of paint horses. He was known for his horse bloodlines and was a member of the American Paint Horse Association. Boone would have been married to his wife, Adra, for 60 years on the upcoming wedding anniversary. They had two children together--Roger Melson and Cindy Brumley of Broken Bow. He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac Boone Melson Sr. & Mary Marie Melson; and two brothers, David Carl Melson & John Gray Melson. Boone is survived by his wife, Adra Melson; son and daughter-in-law, Roger & Tammy Melson of Broken Bow; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Harvey Brumley of Broken Bow; three granddaughters--Magan & Michael Willingham of Broken Bow, Sarah & Jake Hensley, and Christin & Mark Smith of Broken Bow; four great-grandchildren--Marshall & Molly Willingham, Laney Tyner, and Maci Smith. Boone is also survived by two brothers, Bascom Melson of Vancouver, Washington and Mitchell Melson of Pittsburgh, Pennsyvania; and one sister-in-law, Francis Parsons of Smithville; four nephews and one niece--Jack Allen Melson & wife, Cassa of Sherman, Mary Ann Rutowski & husband, Greg of Vancouver, Washington, David Carl Melson & wife, Melanie of Texarkana, Jon Melson & wife, Ashley of Yale, OK, and Jeb Melson & wife, Ryann of Stillwater; and many great nieces and nephews. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, November 22, 2019, from 6-8 PM, at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 23 at 1 PM, also at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Rock Hill Cemetery in the Oak Hill Community.
