Howard L.C. Fruen Obituary (1944 - 2013)

Howard L.C. Fruen, age 69, of Hatfield, died Friday, August 16, 2013 at his home. He was born on Friday, June 9, 1944 to Ellis L.C. and Ola Evelyn Pepper Fruen in Bates, Arkansas. Howard was a friend to all and always seen the good in everyone he came into contact with; he also was kind to animals, especially dogs. To Howard, family was everything to him; spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren brought him great joy in his life. They were his greatest possession. Howard worked for many years at Hatfield Lumber before retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved going deer hunting and getting away on an old back road somewhere. He was of the Pentecostal Faith. Howard was a loving husband, father, brother grandfather and friend and will be missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Kathy Fruen of Hatfield; his daughter and son in law, Tammy and Dewayne Rhodes of Vandervoort; two step sons, Bob Fruen and wife, Melody of Pearcy , Arkansas and Paul Fruen of Mena; one brother and sister in law, Wayne and sue Fruen of Hatfield; two sister and brother in law, Judy Myers of Hatfield and Glenda and Roy Martin of Hatfield; four special grandchildren Ashley Fruen and Seth Fruen both of Mena, Alex Rhodes and Dale Rhodes both of Vandervoort; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena with Reverend Bob Fruen and Reverend Chris Burke officiating. Interment will follow in the Six Mile Cemetery in Hatfield. Visitation will be Monday, June 19, 2013 at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel from 6-8 P.M. Pallbearers will be Paul Fruen, Randy Myers, Bruce Myers, Dale Rhodes, Alex Rhodes and Mitch Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Burford, Coy Burford and Nick Myers.
