Helen Hurley

Helen Hurley, age 84, of Mena, Arkansas, died on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the Green House Cottages of Homewood in Mena, Arkansas. She was born on Saturday, January 4, 1941, to Blan Byers and Willie Leota Shook in Mansfield, Arkansas.

Helen was a quiet and reserved woman with a sweet demeanor and a constant smile that brightened every room. Her positivity was unwavering, always seeing the good in life and finding ways to encourage those around her. Helen had a gift for lifting spirits and bringing comfort to others. A devoted member of the Anointed Faith Tabernacle in Old Dallas for many years, she lived her faith through her actions. Her love for cats was evident in the way she cared for them, and her nurturing spirit extended to her life's work. Helen founded Green's Guest Home, an assisted living center she ran with pride and dedication, providing compassionate care to the elderly in need. A wonderful mother and tireless worker, she created a happy and welcoming home for her family. Helen's passion for caring for others defined her life, leaving a legacy of love and kindness that will be deeply missed.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Mike Green; Blan Byers and Willie Stokes; two brothers, Blan Byers Jr. and Wendell Byers; and one sister, Nona Lou Byers.

Helen is survived by one daughter and son in law, Sharon and Bobby Pack of Mena; one son, Jerry Green; grandchildren, Josh Pack of Mena, and Krista Long of Pencil Bluff; six great grandchildren, McKenzie Long, Koy Long, Adalyn Pack, Kiowa Long, Jade Pack, Onyx Long; several nephews and nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.

A private interment will take place at the Pinecrest Memorial Park in Mena, Arkansas under the direction of Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
