Harvey was a veteran and served his country in the U.S. Army. He and Mary (Basler) Colbert were united in marriage on March 9, 1985 in Finley, OK. Harvey surrendered to the ministry in 1987 and in 1988, he began preaching in the Idabel circuit. While pastoring there he began his course of study at Southern Methodist University and completed that in 1993. Harvey loved preaching the word of God and had pastored several other circuits including the Chickasaw circuit from 1991 to 1994, Finley circuit from 1994 to 1995, Broken Arrow from 1995 to 1998, and the Glover circuit from 1998 until his retirement in 2002. He enjoyed gospel singings, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey T. and Ethel Jane Williams; and one sister, Edna Gibson.Rev. Harvey leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mary Williams, of the home; two sons, Harvey Ted Williams, Durant, Jerry Williams, Union, MS; four daughters, Ethel Williams, Durant, Cathy Chapman, Eufaula, OK, Sandra Jimison, New Lebanon, OH, Amy Johnson, Cowetta, OK; two sisters and three brothers-in-law, Norma and Andy Choate and Lourena and Steve Billy, Bennie Gibson, all of Finley, OK; two brothers and one sister-in-law, John Dixon and Renee Williams, Bryan, TX, Mose Williams, Eagletown; special aunt, Rebecca Noah, Finley, OK; seventeen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.A wake service will be Sunday, June 15, 2008 from 4'6 p.m in the Brumley Chapel, Broken Bow.Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2008 at the Tohwali United Methodist Church, Broken Bow. Rev. Roger Scott and Rev. David Wilson will officiate.
