Harmon "H.H." Hornbeck, 81 of Battiest, passed away July 6, 2017 at Paris, Texas. He was born December 2, 1935 at Goodwater, Oklahoma, the son of Jim and Beulah Caldwell Hornbeck. A veteran of the United States Army, H.H. proudly served our country. His list of service continued as a Master Mason serving the Broken Bow Lodge and the Sugarland Lodge of Texas for over 50 years. He was also a member of the Shriners and Scottish Rites. H.H. was a cattle rancher and enjoyed working his cows. When he was younger, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved visiting with his friends and especially loved his children, grand children and great-grandchildren. He married Ann Rhoten on June 2, 1957. He was affiliated with Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and had lived in McCurtain County his entire lifetimeH. H. is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ann Hornbeck; daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Barney Johnson of Mt. Herman, Oklahoma; son and daughter-in-law, John and Dana Hornbeck of Crescent, Oklahoma; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Marion Brumley of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Brandon and Aliana Johnson, John and Sarah Cogburn and Dawson Hornbeck; 5 great-granchildren, Brayden, Collin, Hailee, Kolbie, and Karli; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2017 at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Bethel, Oklahoma with Bro. David Hardin officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethel Cemetery with Military Rites performed by the United States Army. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Bethel, Oklahoma.
