Georgia Belle Wood, 97, of Broken Bow, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at the McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel. She was born August 11, 1913 in Lukfata, OK to parents George and Lena (Costilow) Touchstone. Georgia was a longtime member of the Lukfata Baptist Church, and a lifetime resident of McCurtain County. She loved her children, other family and friends. She enjoyed fishing, her flower garden, and reading. She was a great cook and her fried catfish, hushpuppies, and fried apple pies were known to be especially good. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charlie Wood; three brothers, George Touchstone Jr., Ernest Touchstone, and Charles Touchstone; a sister, Bess Phillips, a half brother, Mason Touchstone, and a half sister. Georgia is survived by her five children and their spouses, Charles and Brenda Wood of Broken Bow, Janie and Kenneth McAnally of Broken Bow, Lou and DeRoy Forwoodson of Wilburton, Gary and Donna Wood of Erie, KS, Jerry and Shirley Wood of Clayton, OK; four brothers and one sister-in-law, Jim Touchstone of Broken Bow, Raymond and Betty Touchstone of Broken Bow, Jack Touchstone, of Broken Bow, Harold Touchstone of Bakersfield, CA; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Lukfata Baptist Church with Bro. Paul Puckett officiating. Interment will follow in the Crown Hill Cemetery.
