At the age of 101, Georgia Valene Proctor entered her heavenly home Monday, June 06, 2011. The daughter of Elmer and Annie (Bowden) Douglas, Georgia was born May 14, 1910 in Hope, Arkansas. She worked as head nurse for Dr. Gee in Broken Bow for many years and then retired from McCurtain Memorial Hospital. Georgia enjoyed crocheting, spending time with her family and fishing. There were times she would rather fish than eat and she would always say You cant catch fish sitting down you got to stand up. Georgia was a very special lady and will be truly loved and remembered by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Warney; three children, Floyd Proctor, Kathleen Proctor, Marie Ann Proctor; one son-in-law; Austin Shorty Smith, one grandson, Michael Smith, one grandmother, Carolyn Proctor; one great-granddaughter, Rita Brantley. Georgia leaves to cherish her memory five children, Johnny Proctor and wife Fay of Tom, OK, Elmer Lee Proctor and wife Christina of Winthrop, AR, Helen Brantley and husband Bobby of Broken Bow, Bobbie Brantley and husband Rudolph of Broken Bow, Maurice Smith of Ashdown, AR; daughter-in-law, Bobbie Ruth Proctor of Broken Bow; 22 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 63 great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews and other family members.Cemetery:Interment will follow in Pine Top Cemetery.Service:Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at the Pine Top Missionary Baptist Church with Bro.
