Georgia Ed (Bassham) Powers, 84, of Eagletown entered her Heavenly home on, Thursday, August 25, 2011. The daughter of Arch and Pru (Davis) Bassham, Georgia was born January 2, 1927 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She had lived here most of her life and at one time owned and operated the Hi-Way Caf in Eagletown. It was here that people grew to love her Spitfire personality. Georgia was the glue that bound her family together and was very proud and protective of them. She was quick to tell people Dont mess with the baby! Georgia enjoyed cooking, crocheting and taking care of her family. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Eagletown. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Floy Mae (Bassham) Green; two brothers, Ralph Bassham and Arch Bassham; one niece, Janice Lee Bassham; one nephew, Rodney Leonard; fathers of her children, Carrol Earl Hollis and J.W. Cub Powers. Georgia leaves to cherish her memory three children, Karlyn K. Wheeler of Midwest City, OK, Charlene Dinker Marrs and her husband, Dennis, of Whitesboro, TX, Brock Powers and his wife, Deanne, of Eagletown; five siblings, Forney Bassham and his wife, Darlene, of Stockton, CA, Alice Covington and her husband, Dean, of Irving, TX, Drucilla Taylor and her husband, DeWayne, of Eagletown, Janice Leonard and her husband, Edward, of Eagletown, Jim Litchford and Cathy, of DeQueen, AR; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other loved ones and many friends.Cemetery:Interment will follow in Eagletown Cemetery.Visitation:Family visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Brumley Funeral Home.Service:Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church, Eagletown, with Rev.
