Freddie June McKeever Brosie passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Glover, OK on the banks of Glover River at the home she recently built on the old home place of her parents. She was born Jan 11, 1935 at Oak Hill in McCurtain County, OK to Aulda Leonard and Sarah Gertrude Whisenhunt McKeever. Services for Freddie June are set for Wednesday May 22 at 1:00 p.m. at the Glover River Cowboy Church in Glover, OK (rock church 2 miles south of the North Pole Store) with Bro. Forrest Gibbs officiating. A meal will be provided and all family and friends are invited prior to the service with fellowship hall open at 11:00 a.m. Freddie June was a born survivor and lived 18 years longer than doctors predicted she would by the sheer will power to prove them wrong. She loved the song "Amazing Grace" and made her granddaughter promise to sing this at her funeral when the time came. When she moved back to McCurtain County from Arizona, she enjoyed meeting with her family and friends each Friday night for a delicious catfish dinner and sharing of family news and seeing everyone she knew and loved while on the outing. She dearly loved the springtime when the dogwoods would bloom around her home at Glover. She lived for many years in Phoenix, Arizona and was a long time business owner of a beauty salon there where she made many friends. People were naturally drawn to Freddie June and her bubbly personality. Each year she would often show up for the Fourth of July festivities at the Wright City Rodeo and was always ready for a party. She attended many of her class reunions at Wright City and loved seeing her classmates. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Dr. Donald Brosie in 1985. Also preceding her in death are brothers, Willie Glenn (W. G.), Leonard Allen, Sr.; and sisters, Audie Myrle, Iva Lucille, and Frances Charline. She is survived by two brothers, Alvie Dock McKeever of Cottonwood, AZ and Tommy Lahman and her daughters, Thersia Baker Davis, her son, Jasen and her daughter, Sunny Lyn Williams and husband, Jason and their children, Benna, JJ Sarah Baker Mahoney and Chuck, Lisa Carole Baker Fenn and son, Aleks Lipowicz and Johanna Brosie and husband, Jason Eyestone and their children Eve, Sarah and Jax. She is also survived by her former husband and father of her children, Leonard Baker, of Arizona and special friends, OJ Monday, Tieta Lyckama, Betty Jennings, Jane McElrath and special cousins; Sharon & Shorty McKeever, Faye Donaldson and Calvin McKeever.Cemetery:A private inurnment in Glover Cemetery at a later date. \nTo send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Freddie McKeever Brosie, please visit our floral store.
