Fred Walker, 87 of Bethel, Oklahoma passed away May 12, 2017 at Broken Bow, Oklahoma. He was born January 4, 1930 at Sherwood, the son of Norman Ellis and Lillian Irene (Scott) Walker. Fred and Earlene Christian were united in marriage May 21, 1955 in Hugo, Oklahoma and shared fifty-nine years together. Fred served in the U.S. Army from February 1952 to February 1954 as a Corporal. He was a Paratrooper with the 82nd Air Borne. Filled with a giving heart, Fred loved raising a garden and giving away produce. He loved farming and caring for his cows and chickens. He loved local sports, especially watching his grandchildren in their athletic events. He also enjoyed hunting. Fred leaves to cherish his memory his son, Ron Walker and wife, Lou Ann of Battiest; daughters, Sondra Martin and husband, Terry, Carla Lewis and husband, Robert all of Bethel; brother, Don Walker and wife, June of Sherwood; sisters-in-law, Betty Walker of Midlothian, Texas and Marie Nowlin and husband Lee "Pinky" of Arcadia, California; grandchildren, Rhonda, Deborah, Charlotte, Laura, Kevin, April, Charissa, Heath S., Heath M., Casey, Sarah, Benjamin, Bryan and Caragan; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Todd, Tara, Kenny, Jeremy, Kayla, Michelle, Kaci, Austin, Katlyn, Sean, Corbin, Mackenzie, Kiera, Ella and Harper; great-great-grandchildren, Krystin, Mariah, Destiny, Emelie, Abbagail, Zoey, Baylee, Leah and Shannon; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Earlene Walker; sister, Lorene Whatley, brothers, Pete Walker and Merl Walker. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Bethel, Oklahoma with Bro. David Hardin officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery.
