Fred Valencia, 76, of Wright City passed away Monday February 13, 2012 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel. The son of Dominga (Arce) and Martin Valencia, Fred was born May 29, 1935 in Dallas, TX. Fred married Sue Baker in Dallas, TX on August 8, 1964. He was a veteran and served his country in the U.S. Army. He loved his family, grandchildren and taking care of foster children. Fred enjoyed listening to gospel and Latin music. Camping, traveling, deer hunting, carpentry work and working on cars were many things he enjoyed doing. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Dora, Hortence and Rachel, two brothers, Joe and Richard. Fred leaves to cherish his memory Sue Valencia of the home; one son Vance Valencia Sr. and wife Latosha of Texarkana, TX; one daughter Catherine Valencia of Glover, OK; six grandchildren Nicholas Valencia, Quadry Harrison, Lauren Harragarra, Vance Timothy Valencia II, John Cusher and Camryn Valencia; one brother Tommy Valencia of Dallas, TX; one sister Delores Olivo of Dallas, TX; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Edgel Samuel officiating.
