Forney Fletcher Bassham, 82, son of Arch and Pru (Davis) Bassham went to meet his mama and other family members, previously passed, Saturday, October 22, 2011. Forney was raised in Eagletown, OK, and graduated from Eagletown School. He moved to Stockton, CA in 1947. He went to work at American Forest Products at the age of 17 and was there until he retired. He started playing basketball and fast pitch softball, and pitched his last open division game at the age of 60. He was inducted into the Stockton Softball Hall of Fame in 1962. He was inducted into the Stockton Athletic Hall of Fame for distinguished career in Softball in 1997, and was inducted into the Stockton Athletic Hall of Fame for basketball, YMCA year 1954 to 1955 in November of 2005. Forney was an avid hunter and loved his yearly visits to Eagletown to visit his family and hunt. Waiting to meet him at Heavens door were his parents, three sisters, Floy Mae (Bassham) Green, Georgia Ed (Bassham) Powers and Mary Elizabeth Bassham; three brothers, Ralph Abbott Bassham, Col. Arch F. Bassham and John Bassham; one daughter, Janis Lee Bassham; two sons, Forney Keith Bassham and Leo Martinez and nephew Rodney Leonard. He is looking down on his wife, Darlene (McCann) Bassham, three daughters, Judy Lynn Odell and husband Richard, Deborah Jean Fender and husband Robert and Sandra Gail Rupp; two sons, Marcus Martinez and Mathew Martinez and wife, Debra.
