Eric Jessie

Eric Lee Jessie, age 41, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at his home. Eric was born Saturday, July 24, 1982, to Farlin Lee Jessie and Thelma Thalia Franklin Kaniatobe in Talihina, Oklahoma.

Eric was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend whose life was filled with love for his family and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of nature and tradition.

Eric cherished his family above all else, finding great joy in spending time with his loved ones, especially his mother, nieces, and nephews. His bond with his mother was particularly special, and he attended Bok Chito Methodist Church with her, where they shared their faith and spiritual journey.

An outdoorsman at heart, Eric loved exploring the beauty of nature. Whether walking in the woods, fishing, or spending time at the lake, he found peace and fulfillment in the great outdoors. His connection to nature was a fundamental part of who he was.

Eric was also a talented artist who expressed his cultural heritage through beadwork, creating traditional Choctaw regalia. His intricate designs and dedication to this craft were a testament to his pride in his heritage and his desire to keep these traditions alive.

Eric's memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. His love for his family, his passion for nature, and his beautiful beadwork will leave a lasting legacy of joy, peace, and cultural pride.

Eric is survived by his father, Farlin Jessie of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; his mother, Thelma Kaniatobe of Glover, Oklahoma; two brothers, Evan Jessie of Broken Bow, Oklahoma and Derek Jessie of Skiatook, Oklahoma; one sister, Stacy Jessie of Atoka, Oklahoma; five nieces and nephews, Bryanna Barcus, Sidney Barcus, Kristopher Barcus, Dylan Grant, and Devyn Jessie and a host of other family and friends.

Graveside service will be held Monday, June 10, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at the Saint Matthew Cemetery with Reverend Rick Kaniatobe officiating. No visitation is planned with arrangements entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.
