Mena, Arkansas
Earl Frederick Rutter, age 71, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at his home. He was born on Saturday, June 5, 1954, to Earl Jacob Rutter and Margaret Pauline Cooper in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.
Earl was a man whose love for his Savior Jesus Christ guided the way he lived and cared for others. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He enjoyed running marathons and long distance races, and he found joy in flying his RC planes, always finding ways to make them go faster. He loved his puppies and treasured every moment with his wife, children, and grandchildren, who were truly the center of his world. Of all the jobs he had, driving the special needs school bus was the one he loved most because it allowed him to make a difference in the lives of children. Whether flipping houses with his wife or working with his hands on any project he took on, Earl lived as a hardworking and humble man whose love and warm spirit will be deeply missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Bob Morris; and his sister, Patricia Devaney.
Earl is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Sherry Rutter of Mena; two daughters and sons in law, Cassie and Jerry Chavez of Amarillo, Texas, Catrina Blasy and husband, Charlie; four grandchildren, Savannah Evans, McKenzie Evans, Burgurndy Blasy, and Lillian Blasy; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation services are entrusted to the Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any local animal shelters and rescues which were near and dear to Earl's heart.
